TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Cancellation Policy:

"AHN or Allegheny Clinic Employees who are scheduled to attend training and either fail to report or to notify BOTH Mike Gannon (mike.gannon@ahn.org) AND Rhonda Shepard (rhonda.shepard@ahn.org) for system classes; OR Michele Baumgartel (michele.baumgartel@ahn.org) for Allegheny Clinic classes that they are unable to report with less than 3 hours written notice may be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the applicable attendance policy currently in effect at their location."  Employees must also report to their Manager or their designee as per policy, of inability to attend your scheduled course.

If you are a Highmark employee and do not email the Training Center at rhonda.shepard@ahn.org and/or mike.gannon@ahn.org  to cancel your registration and then "no show" for your course, you will be invoiced for the full tuition. Any outstanding balance could prevent future course participation through the Training Center.

(the following is NOT applicable for BLS courses)  If you are registering for an ACLS, PALS or PHTLS Renewal, you must hold a current credential at the time of the course to attend.  If your wallet card has expired, (or will expire by the date of the course you wish to attend) you must attend a full 2 day course.  There is no grace period through the AHA or for PHTLS.  If you attended your last ACLS or PALS course with another Training Center, please forward a copy to the Training Center ASAP

If you are not employed by AHN you have 10 days from the date of registration to pay for your tuition.  Please click on "receipt" for a mailing address to send your check to pay your tuition.  You can also pay using your Visa, Mastercard or  Discover by calling 412-359-8603.  Failure to cancel a registration in writing 3 hours prior to the course start date/ time will result in forfeiture of your tuition payment.

ACLS Provider, two day course.  This course is designed for first time course participants or those who no longer hold a current ACLS provider card.

A CPR credential will not be issued through attendance of this course.

Credit Designation Statement

ACLS Renewal one day course.  Registrants must hold a current AHA ACLS Provider wallet card valid at the time they are attending class.  ASHI and web based programs issuing wallet cards are invalid for this purpose. Registrations will not be accepted with an expired credential. If the AGH Training Center did not issue your current credential, please submit a copy (front and back) of your current AHA ACLS Provider wallet card to our Training Center office to verify eligibility to attend this program prior to the scheduled start date of your course.

If we do not receive a copy of your card by that date you will be considered ineligible for the class and will be removed from the class. Your card copy can be faxed to 412-359-6914, or attached to an email sent to either Rhonda Shepard rhonda.shepard@ahn.org or Mike Gannon mike.gannon@ahn.org

A CPR credential will not be issued through attendance of this course.

The MEGA Instructor Course is designed in modular fashion to allow course participants to select either ACLS Instructor Candidate, BLS Instructor Candidate, or PALS Instructor Candidate options based upon their current certification status and interests. All Course particiapnts MUST attend Day One of the scheduled program, and be preparaed to present a 3-5 mini topic presentation in the classroom setting. The ACLS Instructor Candidates attend the morning session on Day Two of the scheduled program. PALS Instructor Candidates attend the afternoon session on Day Two of the scheduled program. BLS Instructor Candidates attend Day Three of the scheduled program.

Precourse work is mandatory prior to entering this course by completing the AHA discipline specific Instructor Essentials Modules on line.

This course has replaced the BLS for Healthcare Provider and BLS for Healthcare Provider Renewal CPR course.  

Basic Life Support is a 4 hour course.  Participants must be present for the entire course, and succesfully complete the skills testing and written exam to receive their BLS CPR credential.  

 

This program DOES NOT qualify for ANY promotional code for AHN employees. This is a non-professional rescuer CPR and AED Training Program covering adult CPR techniques with AED required. Child and/or infant modules may also be available in the course format. First Aid  is also a component of this course format. Instructors are required to indicate which modules are presented for each course. The credential issued is valid for 2 years.

SYSREQ = AHN System Command Medic. This code is designed for ACLS, BLS, PALS, and PHTLS Courses that are required to maintian Medical Command status. This Code is INVALID for Instructor Level Courses.

SYSAFF = Affiliate of AHN but not an employee example: student of WPH, CGH, AVH (code not valid for CPR, PHTLS or Instructor course)

MEDICNONSYSTEM = This is for EMS Providers who do not receive medical command through AHN, only for ACLS and PALS
