BLS course restrictions: Until further notice our BLS courses are restricted for AHN employees who require BLS.  AHN employees not required, and paying participants will be cancelled. Please check back for changes to this policy. We apologize for this inconvience.

Terms and conditions

Tuition is due immediately following registration (click on the "RECEIPT" link in your email to verify your balance due before calling to pay tuition). Please call Rhonda Shepard, 412-491-2019, Monday through Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM to pay your tuition using a credit/debit card. Please see the public notes section of your registration receipt to view changes on payment requirements.

Registrations after 5:00 PM, on weekends, or holidays must be paid the next business day.  We do not accept American Express, checks or cash.  Tuition is non-refundable, but is transferrable to a future course with a three day advanced email cancellation.  Registrations with unpaid tuition will be cancelled.  You will NOT receive an invoice or reminder of payment prior to cancellation. No exceptions can be made to the tuition requirement.

If you are registering for an ACLS, PALS or PHTLS renewal Course, you must hold a current credential at the time of the course to attend. If your wallet card has expired, (or will expire by the date of the course you wish to attend) you must attend a full Provider Level course. There is no grace period through the AHA or for PHTLS. If you attended your last ACLS, PALS, or PHTLS course with another Training Center, please forward a copy to Rhonda.shepard@ahn.org  

We are unable to add seats to a course that is full, additionally we don't have a waitlist available.   Please select another course date/time.  You must be pre-registered to attend, no "walk-ins" will be accepted.

ACLS Provider - two day course

ACLS Renewal - one day course.  

  • Registrants must hold a current AHA ACLS Provider credential card valid at the time they are attending class. ASHI and web based programs issuing wallet cards are invalid for this purpose. Registrations will not be accepted with an expired credential.

  • If the AGH Training Center did not issue your current credential, please email a copy of your current AHA ACLS Provider wallet card to rhonda.shepard@ahn.org and mike.gannon@ahn.org to verify eligibility. If we do not receive a copy of your card you will be considered ineligible for the class and your registration will be cancelled.

This live, hands-on course is designed to provide the “how-to” of emergency care of the burn patient through the first 24-hour critical time period. This is a 9 hour course designed for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, therapist and first responders. It is presented as a series of lectures and group discussion case studies. Testing consists of a written exam and a practical assessment, upon passing, the certification is good for 4 years and provides 7 hours of Con-Ed through ANCC, AMA PRA Category 1 and through EMCCO West.

BLS - Basic Life Suppport (CPR).

  • Basic Life Support is a 4 hour course.  Participants must be present for the entire course, and succesfully complete the skills testing and written exam to receive their BLS CPR credential.  

 

This course will provide EMS personnel with a variety of maternal and delivery complications.   Participants will take part in pre-hospital scenarios based on National EMS Education Standard Competencies and the PA Department of Health EMS Protocols. Scenarios will encourage development of critical   thinking skills, as well as provide simulation experience in core ALS and BLS skills within the provider’s scope of practice.

This course is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Health for 3 hours continuing education credit in the medical/trauma category for ALS and BLS providers, and 1.5 hours for EMRs.

PALS Provider - two day course

EMPREQ - AHN Employees attending a course required for current position. You must have an AHN Employee ID number and provide your Department name in your registration to use this code.This code is not applicable for Travel Nurse placement at AHN.

EMPNOTREQ - System employees attending a course that is not required for their current position (code only valid for ACLS and PALS). You must have an AHN Employee ID number in your registration to use this code. This code is not applicable for Travel Nurse placement at AHN

SYSREQ - AHN System Command Paramedics. This code is exclusively used by Paramedics for ACLS, BLS, PALS, and PHTLS Courses that are required to maintain Medical Command status. This Code is not valid for an Instructor Course.

SYSAFF - Affiliate of AHN but not an employee example: student of WPH, CGH, AVH (code not valid for CPR, PHTLS or Instructor course)

MEDICNONSYSTEM - Paramedics (EMT-P) who do not receive medical command through AHN. ACCME CEU's will not be awarded for ACLS or PALS when this code is used.

EMERUS - This code is for use by Emerus Employees Only. 

USACS - This code is for use by USACS employees only.  

HIGHMARK - This code is for use by Highmark employees only if the credential is required for the current position.
